Prices are the vendors' published list prices as researched in Oct 2026 and change often — always check the vendor's pricing page.

Step-by-step setup

  1. Pick a narrow, evergreen niche with RPM-friendly topics (personal finance history, how things work, science explainers). Check 10 competitor channels for proof of demand.
  2. Build a reusable ChatGPT prompt that turns a topic into a researched 8–12 minute script with a hook, chapters and sources list.
  3. Clone a consistent narrator voice in ElevenLabs (or use a stock voice) and generate narration per script.
  4. Generate a visual set per chapter in Midjourney; combine with stock B-roll in Descript and auto-generate captions.
  5. Have ChatGPT draft 3 titles + thumbnail concepts; A/B test thumbnails with YouTube's built-in Test & Compare.
  6. Batch-produce 8–12 videos before launch, then publish on a fixed schedule (1–2/week).
  7. Once you meet YouTube Partner Program thresholds, enable ads; add affiliate links in descriptions.

  • Reading analytics and adjusting topics

Overview

The faceless explainer channel is the classic AI content machine: AI tools handle research, writing, narration and visuals, while you act as editor-in-chief. Long-form (8+ minutes) tends to earn more per view than Shorts, and evergreen topics keep earning long after upload.

Costs

Roughly $40/month with the stack above, before any paid stock footage. You can start near $0 with free tiers, but ElevenLabs’ free tier doesn’t include a commercial license, so budget at least the $6 Starter plan once you monetize.

Realistic income

Nothing until you’re in the YouTube Partner Program (currently requires a subscriber and watch-hour threshold — check YouTube’s latest rules). After that, earnings depend heavily on niche RPM and views. A small channel at 50k monthly views might earn somewhere in the low hundreds of dollars a month from ads; well-run channels in high-RPM niches can reach a few thousand. Many channels never reach monetization.

Risks

  • “Inauthentic / repetitious content” policies. YouTube demonetizes mass-produced, low-effort videos. Add real value, original structure and human review.
  • Disclosure. YouTube requires disclosure of realistic synthetic content in some cases.
  • Slow ramp. Expect months of uploading before meaningful income.
